This panel underscored both local peacebuilding initiatives and the contributions of academic research in territories and situations characterized by significant geopolitical complexity.

During the 3rd day of the EURPA conference, the workshop “Empowering the Next Generation of Peace Researchers: Building a Stronger Network for Global Challenges” was held. This workshop was dedicated to young researchers under 39 years old and was organized by Merel Selleslach and Anush Petrosyan. The activity aimed to present the PEACE (Peace Research Community in Europe) network, a project that recently started in October 2024 under the European Cooperation in Science and Technology.

The Congress of the European Peace Research Association (EuPRA) held in Pisa from November 5 to 9, 2024, noted the urgency of sensing-thinking together to build peace, in a global context marked by the multiplication of armed conflicts, the increase of inequality and the proliferation of hate speeches that legitimize exclusion and the imposition of the postulates of some over the lives of others.
